The passage formed a small entry to St John’s Priory. Meetings of the London Corresponding Society took place here, at the Bull’s Head. Founded in 1792, the Society was the first working-class political movement in Britain. Its aim was to agitate for political reform, including universal manhood suffrage and annual elected parliaments.
