St Peter’s Italian Church has been described as ‘one of the most beautiful churches in London’. Opened in 1863, it has a basilican plan based on San Crisogono, Rome, with a nave colonnade of stone, painted to resemble marble. Together with Terroni’s delicatessen next door, it is at the heart of the area’s ‘Little Italy’.
