The One Tun started trading on this site in 1759, although the current building was built in the 1870s. Dickens immortalised it as Bill Sykes’s local in Oliver Twist. These days it attracts a less criminal crowd, and serves excellent pan-Asian food. There are also hotel rooms upstairs.
