The Communist Party paper the Daily Worker was printed at 75 Farringdon Road (now redeveloped) from 1948 and the building was named after the first editor. When the first edition was printed, 20,000 supporters blocked the traffic and held a torch-lit procession, carrying William Rust to Clerkenwell Green.
